Pilates FAQs for TruForm Pilates Scottsdale
Everything you need to feel confident before your first session.
Whether you are completely new to Pilates or looking for more information about our studio, you will find answers to the questions we hear most often about getting started, Private and Semi-Private Pilates, Small Group Classes, booking, and preparing for your visit.
Every new client begins with an Intro Pilates Session, giving your instructor time to learn about you, and establish the right foundation for your Pilates practice.
Getting Started with Pilates
-
No. Many TruForm clients begin with little or no previous Pilates experience. Your instructor will introduce you to the apparatus and foundational exercises at a pace appropriate for you.
-
Every new client begins with a Private Intro Session. This allows your instructor to learn about your goals, introduce you to the Classical Pilates apparatus and recommend the best training path for you.
-
The Intro Session helps you become comfortable with the apparatus, learn essential studio procedures, and begin developing the foundational skills used in class. It also allows your instructor to determine when you are ready to participate safely and confidently in a group setting.
-
Yes. Pilates can be introduced progressively, making it appropriate for beginners as well as experienced clients. Your instruction will be adapted to your experience and current abilities.
-
Consistency is more important than any single number of sessions. Many clients practice two or more times each week, but your instructor can help you choose a schedule that fits your goals, availability and budget.
-
Yes. Please tell your instructor about any injuries, medical conditions or movement concerns before your session. When appropriate, you may be asked to obtain guidance or clearance from your healthcare provider. Pilates instruction is not a substitute for medical treatment.
Choosing the Right Pilates Sessions
-
Private Pilates is one-on-one instruction personalized around your body, experience and goals. Your instructor selects the exercises, apparatus and pace that best support your development.
-
Semi-Private Pilates allows two or three compatible clients to train together while continuing to receive individualized instruction and guidance.
-
Semi-Private Sessions work best for clients with compatible experience, abilities and goals. Partners may include spouses, friends or family members. You can begin with an Intro Semi-Private Session.
-
Our Small Group Classes use the Classical Pilates apparatus and are limited to a maximum of four clients. The small class size allows instructors to continue providing personal guidance and corrections.
-
Yes. Many clients combine Private Pilates with Small Group Classes or return to Private Sessions when they want additional attention, support or refinement.
-
Your instructor will recommend the best next step following your Private Intro Session. The recommendation may include Private Pilates, Semi-Private Pilates, Small Group Classes or a combination of options.
